Welcome to Directed MFG, Inc. (DMI), a unique rapid manufacturing company with a very specific mission and purpose: to deliver quality production additively manufactured parts, components and assemblies, in both plastics and metals, through our AS9100B quality management system. Using layer-built direct digital manufacturing processes, such as plastic laser sintering and direct metal laser sintering (DMLS), we are able to effectively streamline the manufacturing of on-flight parts, tools and patterns. These tool-less processes eliminate the need for expensive and time-consuming tools. This allows our customers interested in plastic laser sintering and direct metal laser sintering a much broader freedom of design, substantial weight savings opportunities, lower NREs and reduced inventory costs.
As demand for this metal laser sintering technology increases, Directed MFG continues to lead the emerging industry by being earnest in our efforts to educate and train our loyal customers. This education and training includes the development of customer-specific design guides and onsite engineering training sessions, which illustrate how and where customers can reduce traditionally manufactured part counts, maximize designs, and increase part and build efficiency.
In addition to manufacturing rapid prototype and rapid production parts, we have also helped a variety of our customers to develop FAA-certified specs so the materials and processes work fluently and meet the driving standards of our customers.
As we keep up to pace with the latest technologies and equipment, we now offer the latest single and dual-laser sintering platforms, which includes equipment that features the largest build chamber in the industry. Our lab managers and operators are veterans of this additive manufacturing industry and have experience that dates back to the initial development of the first rapid prototyping and manufacturing machines. This experience allows us to offer professional fabrication, detailed assembly, and quality inspection throughout our manufacturing facilities.
